Bookkeeper – Part Time

We’re looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to manage our accounting functions and ensure the financial health of the organization. In this role, you’ll oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and benefits administration. As the primary finance person, you’ll have a direct impact on operations by ensuring timely payments, accurate invoicing, and proper financial recordkeeping.

This is a part-time position which should average 20-30 hours per week. We are considering candidates who are local to the Twin Cities area as well as candidates that live outside the area who would work remotely.

What You’ll Do:

  • Invoicing & Payments: Support the invoicing process, follow up on payments, and ensure accuracy.
  • Accounts Payable: Manage and process all vendor payments and expenses.
  • Payroll & Benefits: Process staff payroll using ADP, handle benefits administration, and manage expense reimbursements.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Regularly reconcile bank and credit card accounts to maintain financial integrity.
  • Financial Policies: Enforce accounting methods, policies, and best practices, ensuring compliance.
  • Tax Filings: Work with an outside accounting firm to prepare state and federal tax filings.

Who You Are:

  • Education & Experience: Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field and at least 5 years of experience in an accounting or finance role—preferably within a small business.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks Online (or similar software), and ADP (or other payroll platforms).
  • Detail-Oriented: You are highly organized, meticulous, and committed to maintaining accurate records.
  • Flexible & Independent: You thrive in a flexible, independent work environment but also enjoy collaborating with a small, dedicated team.
