Senior and Principal Evaluators

We are seeking experienced public health evaluators at both the Senior and Principal level. These positions will lead high quality, utilization focused evaluation projects in tobacco control, chronic disease, systems change, health disparities, media, and other public health topics. You will apply quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods approaches, build client relationships, and have accountability over project deadlines, budgets, and the quality of deliverables. Additionally, the Principal Evaluator position is a senior leader at PDA.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and oversee rigorous, utilization-focused evaluations using quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods
  • Successfully manage project budgets, scope, and timelines to consistently deliver high-quality work on schedule and within budget
  • Present findings to diverse audiences and translate evidence into actionable recommendations
  • Use strong and versatile writing and analytical skills to write proposals, reports, and manuscripts
  • Create or adapt data collection tools and protocols and monitor data collection
  • Supervise, coach, and develop evaluators, providing clear expectations, feedback, and growth pathways
  • Contribute to business development
  • Some travel, as needed, to conduct site visits or present at conferences

Additional Principal Level Responsibilities

  • Build high performing teams by clarifying roles, facilitating collaboration, and ensuring effective project management
  • Lead proposals for new/potential clients
  • Use your evaluation and public health expertise to support process improvement and the growth of team members
  • Supervise and mentor staff
  • Chair or co-chair internal committees to advance standards and innovation
  • Sponsor cross-team initiatives that improve methods, tools, and processes, and model PDA values and inclusive practices

Qualifications

  • Graduate degree and at least 5 years of evaluation experience (10 years for Principal), or a bachelor’s degree and at least 10 years (15 years for Principal).
  • Proven success leading evaluation projects and teams from design through the use of findings.
  • Demonstrated expertise with qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods approaches
  • Excellent project management skills across multiple complex projects with consistent on time and on budget delivery.
  • Experience evaluating programs related to chronic disease prevention or tobacco cessation
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including writing in a concise and clear manner for a variety of audiences
  • Principal level: People leadership experience including supervision, mentoring, and building inclusive team cultures.

Compensation

PDA offers a comprehensive benefits package and salaries that align with skills and experience. The salary range for the Senior and Principal Evaluator positions are $75,000 to 125,000.
